Astrophytum myriostigma v. nudum at Santa Rita, San Luis Potosí

The site is located northeast Huizache on the southwest side of a low hill, about 1700 m above sea level. In the sandy loam mixed with a little humus, numerous holes let suspect that in the area frequent are rattlesnakes. Also because of the partly dense vegetation with thorny bush, agaves and hechtias the commission there is not very pleasant. In two hours of searching there were only ten plants, three of them damaged by animal bites. On nearly all species spine rudiments at the areoles were felt when touching them.
