Astrophytum myriostigma ssp. tamaulipense near Jaumave and surroundings
The first literary mention of the area Jaumave as a site of Astrophytum myriostigma comes from FRIC, AV (1925 p. 34). Around this years in this area lived the cactus collector Hans-Wilhelm Viereck, who sent thousands of plants to Europe. Later many visitors have admired there the beautiful Astrophytum. In a conversation in 1994 Charles Glass told the author of localities, away from the ever-committed habitats, which have almost exclusively 4-ripped plants. Anyway, you can choose the little town Jaumave as a starting point to visit the nearby San Vicente, San Antonio, Miquihuana or La Perdida.
