Astrophytum myriostigma near Cerritos, San Luis Potosí

The habitat of Cerritos (1180 m above sea) was first mentioned by Viereck in 1939. The growth forms of the plants here on the many small hills surrounding the city are not very different from those at Villar, which is indeed not very far away. It gives food for thought and sadness when you see Astrophytum myriostigma just outside the city in wild rubbish dumps. But perhaps in the last 22 years this has changed positively.
