1979 Sadovsky and Schütz try with Astrophytum columnare to raise the plants to species position. No expert or botanist has followed this opinion. The given phylogenetic reasons are obsolete, since the system of the taxonomy is not build on the evolutionary age of plants. SADOVSKY, O.; SCHÜTZ, B. (1979): Die Gattung Astrophytum Flora-Verlag, Titisee-Neustadt: 159
