Astrophytum capricorne at La Rinconada, Nuevo León

The location near the small village of La Rinconada had at the time of inspections in 1985 and 1991, a completely intact Astrophytum population from seedling to large, old plants. The terrain on the slopes was apparently grazed less, since there were no animal trails. Astrophytum capricorne grows here partly without spines in the agave fields. All plants have 8 ribs. It was a great coincidence that the Capricorne from this place in the first description had just seven ribs.
