Astrophytum asterias south of Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas
The site is located in an area with low hills and hollows, covered loosely by head-high bushes and large open areas with isolated islands of grass. Astrophytum asterias is preferred in the grass up to the edge of the bushes. At the turn of the year temperatures above 30 degrees in the shade are not seldom. In neighboring fruit gardens of the local inhabitants are immature papaya fruit, while orange and lemon trees are usually harvested. Even sugar cane fields dominate the landscape.
